Christoph Thiel has announced the second beta release of openSUSE 11.1: "The first beta release for 11.1 was so popular, we have decided to do it again! The openSUSE project is happy to announce the release of openSUSE 11.1 beta 2, available for immediate download and testing. Major changes in this release include: live CDs for GNOME and KDE, VirtualBox 2.0.2, OpenOffice.org 3.0RC2, GNOME 2.24.0, KDE 4.1.2, Mono 2.0RC3, Compiz 0.7.8. This release is ready for widespread testing and we're encouraging everyone to download and test it." The release announcement also includes a note on the current status of the troublesome e1000e network module, warning for users of OpenOffice.org, and a list of other known issues. Currently only the installation DVD images are available for download (BitTorrent only): openSUSE-11.1-Beta2-DVD-i386.iso (3,711MB), openSUSE-11.1-Beta2-DVD-x86_64.iso (3,960MB).
