The software contains a command line Nero AAC Codec without a graphical user interface. The applications must be retrieved either from the command prompt, batch file, or from the "Run" command in Microsoft® Windows™ start menu. The encoder requires .WAV files in PCM wave format as input and provides .MP4 in MPEG-4/3GPP file format as output, as well as quality and bitrate values as parameters. Nero Digital is a brand name applied to a suite of MPEG-4-compatible video and audio compression codecs developed by Nero AG of Germany and Ateme of France. Hiren's Boot CD is a boot CD containing various diagnostic programs such as partitioning agents, system performance benchmarks, disk cloning and imaging tools, data recovery tools, MBR tools, BIOS tools, and many others for fixing various computer problems. It is a Bootable CD; thus, it can be useful even if the primary operating system cannot be booted. Hiren's Boot CD has an extensive list of software. Utilities with similar functionality on the CD are grouped together and seem redundant; however, they present choices through UI differences.

Internet Explorer Administration Kit 8 Beta
IEAK8 Beta is now available publically for everyone to try. To give you some background, the IEAK allows you to deploy customized packages and manage IE settings post deployment within corporations and among Internet Content Providers (ICP) and Internet Service Providers (ISP). For instance, Acme Corp could use IEAK to create a custom IE package for their employees that has Acme favorites, search providers, home pages, Web Slices, Accelerators, and more.
We simplified creating, deploying and managing branded IE packages. We optimized the IEAK to help you build your customized IE packages more quickly and to allow you to configure and customize new features in Internet Explorer 8, like Accelerators and Web Slices.

Accelerators
You can easily include custom defaults for Accelerators: simply point to an XML file for the desired Accelerator, or import existing Accelerators from a local machine.
AMD has announced the introduction of the ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics cards, the latest additions to its ATI Radeon HD 4000-series graphics line up. Both cards are based on the same technology found in ATI Radeon HD 4800-series products, including support for the DirectX 10.1 games and HD multimedia capabilities, the company pointed out.
The ATI Radeon HD 4550 plays demanding game titles previously unplayable by cards in its price segment, and should be available for less than US$59 for a 512MB memory configuration, according to AMD. Meanwhile the Radeon HD 4350 will be priced less than US$39 with 256MB memory. Both cards are expected to be available starting in October
The ATI Radeon HD 4550 features 80 stream processing cores and is based on AMD's second generation 55nm process. With 96GFLOPS of compute power, the ATI Radeon HD 4550 allows users to unlock new gaming experiences never before playable in this segment, with full support for DirectX 10.1 games, while operating at less than 20W under full load, AMD highlighted. The Radeon HD 4550 will also be available as a passively cooled option.

For all you WU users who happen to be running Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 on a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 system, we wanted to let you know that today we’re releasing IE8 Beta 2 to Windows Update so that getting the latest Beta is super easy and convenient for you (note IE8 Beta 2 will be made available to WU users running Windows Vista at a later date). If you have Automatic Updates turned on, Windows Update will automatically download IE8 Beta 2 and notify you when it is ready for install. You’ll then have the option to proceed with or postpone installation.

A new alpha build of Mythbuntu 8.10, an Ubuntu-based distribution featuring MythTV and designed for home theatre PCs, has been released: "Without further ado, allow me to introduce Mythbuntu 8.10 alpha 6. It is very important to note that this release is not compatible with Mythbuntu 7.10 or any other MythTV 0.20.2-based distribution. Changes from alpha 4: lots of bug fixes across the board in Ubiquity and Mythbuntu control centre; bug fixes for MythTV; general bug fixes. We are introducing a testing Personal Package Archive (PPA). This PPA will contain software that is either not in the repositories, or is a more current version than what is in the repositories. This PPA will not contain updated MythTV packages, but instead will contain new and updated packages for programs such as MythExport, MythNetTv, and MythVideo-Bulk-Updater."
