AMD officially intros Radeon HD 4890

Right on cue, as rumored, expected and predicted, AMD has now launched its most powerful single-GPU card yet, the Radeon HD 4890. Powered by the 55nm RV790 GPU, the card brags with 1.36 TeraFLOPs of powa' and features DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.0 and CrossFireX support, ATI Stream technology and the v2.0 Unified Video Decoder. The new card packs 800 Stream Processors, a core clock of 850 MHz, 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 3900 MHz, a dual-lost cooler and two 6-pin PCIe connectors.

Coming with a recommended price tag of $249, the Radeon HD 4890 is offered by board partners like Asus, Club 3D, Diamond Multimedia, Force3D, Gecube, Gigabyte, HIS, Jetway, MSI, Palit Multimedia, PowerColor, Sapphire, VisionTek and XFX.
